Meet Me In Galilee

Before Jesus’ crucifixion, he told the disciples to go to Galilee and meet Him there after His resurrection. The angel of the Lord repeated this message to the woman at the tomb, instructing her to tell the disciples to go Galilee.
But why Galilee? Why did Jesus chose this little town to return to?

Most believe He wanted to finish where He started; after all, Galilee was where much of Jesus' ministry had take place. Others say it was a practical decision; the Passover had ended, and many people were returning back to their hometowns. Still others suggest the disciples needed time to reconnect with their families and regroup, now that everything has changed.
But maybe it was something even simpler.
Maybe Jesus wanted to meet them in a place that felt familiar. Not flashy. Not crowded. Just quiet. Just Him.
I believe He wanted the disciples to know that He still meets us in the ordinary—in the places we don’t expect, in the spaces that feel like home, and in the rhythms of everyday life.
I once heard a pastor say, “Jesus wants to meet you in the ordinary—the daily moments, the hard places, the quiet spaces where nothing else is loud enough to distract you.” That line stayed with me. Because when I look at Scripture—and my own life—it’s true. Jesus does some of His deepest work in the unnoticed places.
Today is an ordinary day for me—kids home sick, groceries to grab, errands to run, and Lysol in every room.
No spotlight. No big moment.
Just real life.
It's easy to overlook Him when the day feels routine, but that's precisely where He invites us to encounter Him. So, here's my challenge to both of us: seek Him in the in-between moments. Pay attention to the ordinary. It is here that He reveals Himself with profound comfort and wisdom, reassuring us of His constant presence, even in challenging times. Take a moment, breathe Him in, and shift your focus to what He wants to reveal to you today.
He continues to meet His people in places like Galilee. Not because we’ve earned it, but because He’s faithful to apear regardless. Will you take the time to seek Him today? He will be in the ordinary…waiting for you.
