Hey ya'll!
I’m Catharine—
wife, mama, teacher, writer, and a Southern woman who knows what it’s like to juggle a full plate while craving peace that actually lasts. Down here, we’re raised to smile, wave, and keep it all together, as if it's an understood medal of honor.
But let’s be honest - that kind of pressure cracks. I’ve felt it. I’ve crumbled under it. Overwhelmed with small children and a mountain of dirty dishes, I often wondered if I was getting any of it right—marriage, motherhood, faith. And yet, in those unscripted, undone moments, God met me. What He offered me wasn’t a grand badge of achievement, but gritty, steady trust that would endure everything. The kind that shows up in the daily—between carpool lines, laundry piles, and late-night prayers.
That’s what led me to create Words That Flourish—a space where busy women can breathe deep, rediscover their purpose, and walk lighter with God by their side.
I write for the woman who needs to know that she is not alone. I write for her because I am her. I know what it’s like to carry big responsibility with a desperate need for rest, clarity, and a deeper connection with Jesus. I don’t write from a pedestal of perfection—I write from the trenches of real life, where learning to lean on God doesn't mean losing ground, it means you’ve found where your strength comes from. It’s a holy surrender. A repositioning of your heart to remain steadfast.
So, whether you’re here for a quick word of encouragement or a deep soul reset, I hope you find what you need. There are no polished pages here, just honest connections and real conversations. Here is where you will find soulful reminders that God is still in the middle of it all.

WALK IT OUT: BALANCING THE BUSY WHILE WALKING WITH GOD
What if balancing a full plate wasn’t about doing less,
but making space to trust God more?
Sometimes, the most significant transformation begins when we stop looking at what’s falling apart and start focusing on the One who is holding it all together.
…a change in perspective begins with repositioning your soul—trusting what your heart hears from God over what your eyes can see.
-The Season of Perspective
...purpose isn’t something distant or out of reach. It’s not confined to a calling or grand achievement: it’s right here, woven into every part of your life. Therefore, your purpose is not singular. Purpose is in the late-night cuddles, the whispered prayers, the hard conversations, and the small acts of love you offer each day. These seemingly ordinary moments are part of something much bigger than they appear. Although these events don’t feel significant, they are, in fact, a true testament to intentional living, guided by the godly values reflected in your faith. God sees you right where you are and promises to bring light to your darkness. He’s already factored in your weakness, and despite how you feel, He calls you worthy and longs to use you just as you are.
- The Season of Purpose
God isn’t looking to “stick it to us” but to “stick with us,” so if your situation has taken a turn for the worse and your faith feels shaky, remember God remains steadfast. He is the anchor in your storm. He’s with you in the crushing moments, the days of intense pressure, and He walks beside you when your pain feels endless. There’s purpose here when viewing this season from God’s perspective. It is the only way you will find peace with God and discover His provision along the way.
-The Season of Pain
You are not here by chance. Every step you’ve taken has been ordered by God, preparing you for what lies ahead. Your promise lies on the other side of obedience, and your testimony will stand as a lasting reminder to you, your children, and your family that God’s promises never fail. No matter the season or the length of the journey, trust that He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than you could ever ask or imagine. Hold onto His faithfulness and step forward with confidence. Your story isn’t just about where you’ve been, it’s about the God who has been with you every step of the way.
